Silent Hill: Revelation is a little movie we've been pretty excited about since it was announced. There have been images, clips and now, finally, a trailer and though it doesn't completely ignore the real world, as agentorange so hoped for, it does look pretty fantastic.
Solomon Kane director Michael J. Basset (if you missed it, Solomon Kane is finally getting a US release, details here) is directing from his own script which is loosely based on the video game and is a sequel to the original film. The story behind Silent Hill wasn't fantastic but the film's visuals were spectacularly creepy (not to mention the siren was enough to raise goose bumps) and Basset's film seems to be following suit.
Adelaide Clemens (Mad Max: Fury Road) and Kit Harrington (Game of Thrones) both star along with Carrie-Anne Moss, Malcolm McDowell, Sean Bean, Radha Mitchell, and Deborah Kara Unger in this second instalment which is described as:
For years, Heather Mason (Clemmons) and her father have been on the run, always one step ahead of dangerous forces that she doesn't fully understand. Now on the eve of her 18th birthday, plagued by terrifying nightmares and the disappearance of her father, Heather discovers she's not who she thinks she is. The revelation leads her deeper into a demonic world that threatens to trap her in Silent Hill forever.
The acting look, well, not exactly good, but the trailer sure makes up for it in creep factor. And yes, the siren is back.
Silent Hill: Revelation opens on October 26th, just in time for Halloween.

Ned Stark and Jon Snow together again!
Liked the first Silent Hill so this is a no brainer. Looking forward to it.

Looks a bit hokey but I'll still watch it for the production design alone. The first one was fuckin' rad.

Wow, LAZY. Just attempts and fails to recreate all the angles from the first film.
And now the demon that once ripped all your flesh off with one hand is reduced to working as carrossel operator...?lol
Oh and 3D can suck it. I'm sick of your wide angle lens crap.

I am going to watch the cheaper version of this from Ryan Smith called After. After looks more mysterious and this looks like typical Hollywood "play-it-safe" fare.

If I know Bassett he doesn't hold back on the horror. This one may surprise you yet.
