Giacomo Cimini, the man behind The City in The Sky, has optioned Daniel H Wilson's short story The Nostalgist. You might recognize Wilson's name as he wrote Robopocalypse and How to Survive a Robot Uprising, both of which have been picked up by major studios.

A far-distant future. With EyesTM and EarsTM, everything can look and sound just fine, just like it used to be a long time ago. The life of a father and son is almost perfect and it is a shock when their EyesTM and EarsTM break down, though. The father needs to find a replacement but the city of Vanille is a dangerous place to walk through and the kid is not welcomed, actually no kid robot is...

Cimini adapted the story himself and is currently looking for producers and funding while he assembles a top notch team of vfx artists.
