agentorange [Celluloid 08.22.12] post apocalyptic horror



Hell - This sun scorched PA/horror is one intense little shocker and also the best film out for home viewing this week. BUT BE WARNED: From what I can tell, this released is dubbed only. Bad, bad news. The film was originally shot in German and the actors are all absolutely magnificent, so to dub them is criminal. Arc Entertainment, you are officially in my bad books.

Then there's Breathless, a Korean film which was a festival circuit hit a few years back. The story centers on an angry criminal, just released from prison, who goes around beating the shit out of people until a high school girl starts following him around. More abuse ensues.

I think that Hell will be the best post-apocalyptic styled film to come out this year. I highly recommend it.

And, I agree that dubbing the film was a poor decision. It breaks down the film's reality in most cases.

I'm torn- I have bad eye sight so dubs are easier than subs but on the other hand this is one of the worst dubs I've ever heard. I agree with Michael- it makes the film less believable.

Watched Hell last night. Pretty disappointing, even without factoring in the bad overdub. Just really predictable and, well, boring.
