agentorange [Celluloid 09.21.12] scifi horror action thriller adventure



Fourteen minutes of unused footage from Ridley Scott's divisive Prometheus has hit following film's the online release. The most interesting of the unused minutes are an extended dialog scene between old Weyland and the Engineer at the end of the film which gives more incite into Wyeland's hubris and why the Engineer lost his shit.

I can see why they would choose to cut the scene down. It's a little on the nose, telling us stuff audience should really have gleamed in the subtext of the film (though, many didn't so perhaps they should have kept it it?).


Synopsis:
Ridley Scott, director of 'Alien' and 'Blade Runner,' returns to the genre he helped define. With 'Prometheus' he creates a groundbreaking mythology in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

"Unused footage"?! "deleted scenes"?! ALL the footage was unusable, they should have deleted the whole movie.

The geologist/biologist characters banter and actions are such an incredibly stupid piece of writing. I can't believe half the rubbish that must have survived a round table script review. Awful stuff.

The hate for this movie is childish of course most people that reply in a hateful manner on the net are children.
It becomes a habit which starts to effect the world outside the net.

Only 15 minutes? I'm pretty sure there was at least an hour cut from this film... All of it more important to the story than what made it on screen
