Marina Antunes [Celluloid 09.07.12] Canada horror thriller

A few years ago Robert Cuffley appeared on the scene with a great comedy of errors titled Walk All Over Me. Though it wasn't the director's first feature, it was the one that introduced me to his work which often touches on dark themes. It was a fantastic bit of fun involving Tricia Helfer as a dominatrix and her roommate Leelee Sobieski who pretends to be a dom in order to pay her rent. There's more to the story than that but you'll have to check it out to get all of the details.

It's been a number of years since Walk All Over Me and Cuffley has been hard at work on a follow-up, a much darker feature titled Ferocious. It stars Amanda Crew as Leigh Parrish, a small town girl turned actress who takes increasingly dangerous steps to protect her fame. Along with Crew, the film also stars Kim Coates, Dustin Milligan and Michael Eklund.

A trailer for the movie has appeared ahead of its Calgary Film Festival appearance and it looks fantastic, featuring Coates looking crazed, Eklund creepy as all hell and Crew looking terrified, surprising since I assumed she'd be the one doing the terrifying.
