So that Evil Dead logo treatment released at NYCC last week isn't enough to satisfy your hunger for the upcoming remake of the horror classic? Worry not, there's a little more coming your way right now.

It's not very pretty, a little crooked, occasionally dark and blurry and the sound quality is pretty crummy, but it's the best we're going to get until the powers that be decide that we're due for the proper trailer.


Echoes of the original with some great looking gore, a female Ash and overall much better than anticipated. This re-make may not suck after all!

EVIL DEAD finds five twenty-something friends holed up in a remote cabin. When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.

The remake is directed by Fede Alvarez, from a screenplay by Alvarez & Rodo Sayagues Mendez and Diablo Cody.

Look for it terrorising theatres April 12, 2013.

Looks like they are trying to make it a serious film, which is a shame.

Well, Evil Dead didn't really get "funny" until the second film. The first was made to be a standard horror film. In that sense, I guess they are only considering this a reboot of the first film.

I'm digging it and like agentorange said, the original is a straight up horror movie with no comedy. Really looking forward to seeing it and judging it in full.

When I first heard of this I really wanted to cry, really tired of the remakes. BUT this did look like it got a bit gruesome towards the end which is right up my alley. Really keeping my fingers crossed on this one but have a feeling it's going to really disappoint me...time will tell.

I was hesitant about the concept of remaking The Evil Dead. It is one of those films that still manages to send shivers down my spine. But I have to say that the remake looks quite polished, and also suitably gruesome for my liking.
