Out of all the graphic novels to find cinematic support, I doubt anyone guessed we'd see Joon-ho Bong (The Host) bring Jacques Lob and Jean-Marc Rochette's ice-age apocalypse microcosm, Le Transperceneige to the big screen. Thank god the independent movie industry is still willing to take some risks and surprise us all.

The film is currently in post-production and slowly but surely bits and pieces of info are leaking out: this Korean teaser site, a poster, some concept art, and probably most exciting, some of Marco Beltrami kick ass score for the film.

Synopsis:
Snowpiercer is set in a future where, after a failed experiment to stop global warming, an Ice Age kills off all life on the planet except for the inhabitants of the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe and is powered by a sacred perpetual-motion engine. A class system evolves on the train but a revolution brews.

Snowpiercer was recently picked up for distribution by the Weinstein's and stars Chris Evans, Tilda Swinton, Jamie Bell, Alison Pill, John Hurt, Ed Harris, Octavia Spencer and Song Kang-ho.
