Canada is currently a hotbed of genre television. Putting aside the number of American shows which shoot in the Great White North, of late there's also been a push of great new Canadian made content. Shows like "Lost Girl," "Defiance," "Orphan Black," "Continuum" and it looks like we may be getting some more.

UK's Seven Arts Entertainment and Prodigy Pictures (currently producing "Lost Girl" and the folks behind Vincenzo Natali's Neuromancer adaptation) have teamed up for another Gibson adaptation. Along with the announcement of their partnership, the team has also unveiled a production slate that includes a TV series based on Gibson's "Johnny Mnemonic."

Though I've always had a soft spot for Keanu Reeves starring mess, it's not a very good movie and the chance that we could get a good adaptation of the material, which follows the adventures of a data trafficker on the run, is exciting. News on the series are slim at the moment but we should be seeing some details on the production in the coming months.
