Marina Antunes [Cathode Ray Mission 05.07.13] scifi horror thriller

Under the Dome is kicking into promotion gear. With the 13 part CBS adaptation of the Stephen King novel getting ready to premiere in just under two months, we're finally starting to see more of what we can expect from the show and so far, it's looking pretty great.

The show has lined up a pretty great cast of characters including Mike Vogel, Rachelle Lefevre, Dean Norris, Natalie Martinez, Britt Robertson, Alexander Koch, Colin Ford, Nicholas Strong, Jolene Purdy, and Aisha Hinds. Nice to see Robertson is keeping the dream alive. The young starlet hasn't had the best of luck with television over the years.

The show, which unfolds when a town is sealed off from the rest of the world by an enormous transparent dome, should make for some interesting viewing as we watch townsfolk deal with eroding society while trying to figure out just what's going on. This time around reading the book isn't going to be enough as we've already learned that the ending has been altered from King's book.

Under the Dome will premiere June 24.

I loved the book and consider it one of King's best, but I have to say these trailers aren't really doing it for me. I think maybe it's because we're not given much story detail to go on besides the concept of a town under a dome. Looking forward to it though.

This series is looking more and more promising with every teaser they release. I hope it becomes a staple to my summer TV lineup, and I work at DISH with buddies who are looking forward to it as well, so maybe we can fit in a premiere party. If it ends up being great like I think it’s going to be, I’ll save every episode to my DISH Hopper. It can record up to 2,000 hours of TV and entertainment, so there’s still more than enough space for my other shows, even after saving the entirety of Under the Dome.
