I'm without words. Quite honestly, I did a little happy dance when I spotted this, the first full length trailer for Toya Sato's Gatchaman. The 30 second teaser certainly got my appetite wet and I expected the movie would look good but I was thinking it would play a little heavier on the camp factor but that doesn't seem to be the case. It looks pretty badass!

The official synopsis...

Set in the near future, Gatchaman follows the story five special agents of the International Science Organization in Tokyo, as they try to protect the world from the mysterious terrorist group who call themselves Galactor. With technology far surpasses that of humans, Galactor has declared war on the entire world and has already subjugated half of it. Trained to draw out the power from the mysterious crystal-like object called a "stone," our five heroes will be called "Gatchaman."

Gatchaman opens in Japan on August 24. Fingers crossed that it makes its way across the pond.

Great a Japanese Power Rangers reboot. Is anybody else out there as tired of the super hero movies as I am? Granted I was never into them but man enough is enough.

I think the appeal of this one, for me at least, is nostalgic. I could do without more superhero movies but then, I loved MAN OF STEEL. Once in a while one comes along that hits the mark. I'm OK with skipping the rest.

I pretty much ignore superhero movies. I'm not interested in stories about extraordinary people involved in extraordinary situations.

That's because it IS G-Force. That's what they called the second Americanized version from the 80s...
