Push The Sarah Connor Chronicles out of your memory because there's a new Terminator TV show in the works. Skydance Productions and Annapurna Pictures (who are behind the feature reboot) are bringing "Terminator" back to the small screen and have hired "X-Men: First Class" writters Zack Stentz and Ashley Miller to write and executive produce.

Here's where things get interesting. Variety is reporting that the project will follow a critical moment from the first Terminator film — where the film’s story goes one way, the upcoming television show will take that same moment in a completely different direction. I have to admit that if the show plans to spin off cannon and invent various outcomes to the story that would pretty interesting. Since The Terminator deals with time travel this is certainly possible.

Not much to go on, but there may be hope for this franchise yet.

Just as long as both timelines use Summer Glau as a Termie, I will be happy.
