There's a joke around the Quiet Earth back rooms that the only people interested in a Skyline sequel are the filmmakers, agentorange and myself. Yes it was silly and a bit cheesy but it was also a whole lot of fun and far more entertaining than the other alien invasion drek from the same year. It's waiting for rediscovery and I hedge to guess that the rediscovery is going to come sooner rather than later.

You see, it was recently announced that Beyond Skyline, has cast Frank Grillo (The Purge: Anarchy, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, the upcoming The Raid remake) will star alongside Iko Uwais and Yayan Ruhian, two of the stars of The Raid and The Raid 2.

Yes, you read right. The sequel is going to be chalk full of The Raid stars. I assume this means this will have more action but in truth, it's anyone's guess what the thinking is here. Either way, the casting announcement seems to have caught the interes of fanboys who are fanning themselves over the news that so many awesome people will star in the movie. Welcome to the bandwagon. We'll make room for you.

Sadly the Strause Brothers will not be returning to direct. Instead, they'll produce while screen writer Liam O'Donnell, who wrote the first movie, will write and direct the sequel.

"only people interested in a Skyline sequel are the filmmakers, agentorange and myself." Add me to the list I'm a sucker for large monster movies and Alien Invasion flicks. I am a proud owner of the 1953 war of the worlds on VHS.
