Christopher Webster [Celluloid 05.06.15] scifi horror thriller



The 19th annual Fantasia International Film Festival is gearing up to rush Montreal with three weeks of frightening and fantastical visions from across the world from July 14 until August.

The first wave of titles have been announced and they've already got a pretty stellar line-up happening including the world Premier of horror anthology Tales of Halloween, Canadian post-apocalyptic throwback Turbo Kid, Marvel's Ant-Man, and the world premier of the mad looking Assassination Classroom.

South Korea - Dir: Choi Ho

Lee Jeong-jae (THE THIEVES), Shin Ha-kyun (THIRST) and K-Pop star BoA enters a dangerous death game in this high octane action comedy where a Mixed Martial Arts fighter must play a deadly urban chess confrontation created by a Machiavellian mastermind. Canadian Premiere.

CRUMBS
Ethiopia/Spain/Finland - Dir: Miguel Llansó

Ethiopia’s first sci-fi feature also happens to be a post apocalyptic black comedy, an eccentric love story and a brilliant blast of politically-charged surrealism that exists in a space between Alex Cox and Alejandro Jodorowsky. New Zealand - Dir: Jason Lei Howden

Canada - Dir: Gabriel Carrer

FATAL FRAME
Japan - Dir: Mari Asato

FULL STRIKE
Hong Kong - Dir: Derek Kwok, Henri Wong
