Marina Antunes [Celluloid 03.22.16] zombies book

Newly minted youth focused studio Gunpowder & Sky, started in January by an ex-Viacom executive, Tony DiSanto (formerly of MTV) and author James Frey's Full Fathom Five (also produced the terrible I Am Number Four) are teaming up to bring more teen zombies to the big screen but I doubt Eat, Brains, Love can match the current champ of teen zombie movies: Warm Bodies.

Based on Jeff Hart's novel of the same title, Eat, Brains, Love is the story of Jake and Amanda, unlinkely high school sweethearts who contract a mysterious zombie virus, eat half of the senior class and then set off on a road trip trying to find a cure all the while they are being tracked by Cass, a psychic teen sent to hunt them down.

It sounds like great fodder for a made-for-tv movie but the producers are swinging for the fences: "It's got everything you need from a movie — high school insanity, zombie sex, action, zombie sex (again) and over-the-top violence!"

Zombie sex? Yeah... not so sure about that. I'll just stick to "iZombie" thank-you-very-much.

Recommended Release: Warm Bodies
