Already a successful seven part animated series, Tsutomu Nihei's celebrated cyberpunk series "Blame!" is getting yet another adaptation this time, in the form of a movie.
Over the weekend, Netflix announced that it was continuing its foray into original anime titles ("Kights of Sidonia" proved to be successful for the streaming service) by co-producing a film adaptation of Blame!. Nihei's story is set in the distant future where what's left of the human race resides within the Megastructure, a vast and dangerous labyrinth that has grown wild and out of control. Thrown into this world is the mysterious Killy, a strange individual who is on a quest to bring civilization back from the brink of oblivion.
The film is being produced with Polygon Pictures who made the good decision to involve Nihei in the film's production. At the announcement, Nihei unveiled some concept work from the film and along with director Hiroyuki Seshita (who also directed "Sidonia" for Netflix), the pair told fans that the movie has a few surprises for those familiar with the manga and series.
The first teaser for the film is very short but it offers a nice tease for the feature which will premiere in 2017.
Recommended Release: Ghost in the Shell

You had me until..."Killy". Are his comrades in arms "Hurty" and "Weepy"? Or, how about "Stabby" and "Afraidy"? I could keep going, but I won't. Oh, yes I will. There's "Yelly" and "Shouty", as well as "Jumpy" and "Smiley" and "Pleady" and "Wavy" and "Laughy" and of course "Eaty".

Mate, have you even ever read the manga? Obviously not. That story is, hands down, the bleakest vision of the future ever put to paper. Even "I have no mouth, and I must scream" - horrible as it is - doesn't come close.
Imagine the dread of the Terminator and the Matrix rolled up into one, times a million. Constant slaughter of the last humans by rampant killer-bots in a chaotically, ever-growing dyson-spere of several AU's diameter, over quite possibly thousands of years. Until Killy puts an end to it. Because, no matter what, he can't die. However horrible the injury, his body completely repairs itself. So he has to go on.
So, check out the story, and show a bit of respect & pitty for poor, steadfast Killy.

I have waited more then a decade for this to happen!! Finally! Finally!
It's going to be amazing! Then we will also have the new revised Manga for BLAME! set for Sept. The Music in that trailer I hope to God is just the Music in that Trailer...it doesn't work. Silly Storm Drum 2 hits are to obvious.
I was so excited when Project IG was working on the backgrounds for that CGI film till that fell apart.
There is no Dark Scifi anime anymore there isn't anything like Akira, everything cost to much money and studios really suffer to satisfy the market. It's hard for them to take risks.
So BLAME!!as an anime Movie! Is Out Standing!!!!!!!!!!!!!
