John Connor [Celluloid 09.13.17] horror thriller

I love the home invasion genre and we've been getting a series of wonderful twists on it for a few years now. From Intruders (review) to You're Next, the genre is still alive and well.

Enter Better Watch Out (formerly "Safe Neighborhood") from director Chris Peckover that takes place at Christmas and is said to be full of all kinds of surprises.

Set in a quiet American suburb on a snowy evening on the lead up to Christmas, Ashley (Olivia DeJonge), the regular babysitter for Deandra (Virginia Madsen) and Robert Lerner (Patrick Warburton), has to defend their twelve-year-old son (Levi Miller) from strangers breaking into the house – only to discover that this is far from a normal home invasion.
