I'm not sure how this happened exactly but Tommy Wiseau, he of The Room infamy, has made another movie.

This time, Wiseau's role is simply that of actor in Best F(r)iends, a movie written and produced by his friend Greg Sestero, who also stars, and directed by Justin MacGregor who appears to be a member of The Room family.

This time around, the movie centers on a drifter who befriends a quirky mortician, I'm sure you can figure out who plays what role without even looking at the trailer, and the pair form an unlikely business partnership. How exactly the team is getting two movies out of this plot remains to be seen.

Yup, that's right. This story is told in two volumes.

All power to Sestero, Wiseau and MacGregor who have managed to get this project made and out to the world though I can't, for the life of me, figure out what this is supposed to be. Is it a comedy? Is it a thriller? Is it a bromance? Is it all three? I have no clue.

I've always had a hard time watching bad movies for entertainment value and though The Room is by far one of the funniest bad movies I've ever had the misfortune of seeing, it did have some moments which even I laughed at. Best F(r)iends does not seem to meet that level of badness. It actually looks like MacGregor is a competent director but the movie simply looks like a low budget mess.

Best F(r)iends is currently playing across the US.
