quietearth [Cathode Ray Mission 09.09.06] Tuvalu post apocalyptic review

Duck and cover, duck and cover! That's a little sing song verse from some old 50's propaganda video teaching children what to do in case of nuclear attack. Well that's what Jericho is all about. CBS contacted me a month ago and asked me to review their show. I received the dvd's yesterday and just finished watching both of them. I know the pilot leaked on the net, but lucky me, they also sent me the second episode.

The show centers around the small town of Jericho, Kansas, that seems to have somehow escaped the nukes that have gone off. All we can see is one mushroom cloud going off in the direction of Denver, but as the show goes on we learn there are more.

Watching the first, I have to say I was kind of disappointed being that all things post apocalyptic are my bread and butter. There was a bit too much music and it seemed pretty slow. I guess I was expecting more mayhem, but boy was I wrong. I think the first episode was designed to slowly ease the viewer into the series, because during the second one, I was on the edge of my seat. It really picked up and I have to say I am really excited now.. I think this is going to be the hit show of the season. I just hope people aren't turned off by the slow pace at the beginning. But hey what do I know, I'm biased.

Now I could spoil it and give you more details, but you should just watch it. It premiers on Wednesday, September 20th, on your local CBS station.

Update:
I did an interview with Executive Producer Jon Turteltaub and star Skeet Ulrich on Tuesday, September 19th.

Thanks so much for the great Jericho review! It's encouraging to know that it gets even better and hopefully will build ratings with every episode.
