quietearth [Celluloid 02.22.07] post apocalyptic

While the last Resident Evil, Apocalypse, looked post apocalyptic, it turned out to be disappointing and didn't fit the genre. This film, set in Las Vegas, looks definitely post apocalyptic, just check out the trailer!

"Alice, now in hiding in the Nevada desert, once again joins forces with Carlos Olivera and L.J., along with new survivors Claire, K-Mart and Nurse Betty to try to eliminate the deadly virus that threatens to make every human being undead...and to seek justice. Since being captured by the Umbrella Corporation, Alice has been subjected to biogenic experimentation and becomes genetically altered, with super-human strengths, senses and dexterity. These skills, and more, will be needed if anyone is to remain alive."

Hmm, I find it hard to believe that they're going to go down the apocalypse route with Resident Evil, it would somewhat limit what they can do with the franchise in the future?

Having said that it does look very post apocalyptic, although I wonder if perhaps that will just turn out to be either an abandonded area or sealed off zone.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, but I had to post it as a possibility because the trailer looks so awesome.

The trailer sure looks like a world that has been destroyed. Theres something about seeing a city with as much life as Las Vegas destroyed.btw... I just read over at that the FOX Network has just finished shooting a pilot movie called "The Cronicles of Sarah Connor" from the Terminater movies. The series picks up after Terminator 2 when Sarah goes hiding in the Sonora Desert. She emerges from the Desert find the world destroyed by skynet.

Wilcoy, where did you see that? All the news I see is that it's set after T2 when John is 14.

Hers a quote from the website.
The pilot, which picks up the story from the end of the feature film Terminator 2: Judgment Day, begins in the desert, and "it ends with them landing in L.A., having run and escaped. Or maybe not," Headey said in an interview at WonderCon in San Francisco on March 3. heres the link

Forgetting the logistics of why they may not go a PA route...I must say those screens and the trailer sure scream 'dusty wasteland with a few wandering survivors'. Plus kukris.
