quietearth [Celluloid 02.05.08] post apocalyptic movie news

I'm salivating like a pit bull over a T-bone. Quiet Earth friend and filmmaker Matt Davids (check out Ezra Crane!) dropped me an email this morning about this incredible looking production which unfortunately isn't slated for release till summer 2009 with a runtime of 2 1/2 hours. It's what creator Scott C. Carr calls a "spiritual sequel" to his short film "The Nuke Brothers", which is about two brothers hunting the wastelands for food, only to end up hunted themselves. You can download a teaser for this, as well as plenty of other footage, episodes, and even a comic book from Scott's website, and they're all post-apocalyptic based. One even shows an Astronaut and his daughter watching from space! Now you're wondering why I'm calling this art in Cinema? Take a look for yourself! Link after the break, and there will be more to come.

"The Men In the Moon is a two and a half hour epic, independent feature film by creator Scott C. Carr, based upon previous related works: the critically acclaimed "The NUKE Brothers" short film (directed by J.C. Watson), "The Continuing Adventures of FAT Man and little boy..." comic book (illustrated by Jeff Westover) and the film serials "The Last Wizard" and "KID Apocalypse."

The film is currently in production, and features an ensemble cast and elaborate sets: from apocalyptic wastelands to struggling shanty-towns, from bombed-out cities to forgotten lunar bases."
