Christopher Webster [Celluloid 03.01.08] post apocalyptic movie trailer scifi

Because I haven't see The Asylum's first cheapo War of the Worlds cash in I can't, with any authority, comment on how excited we should all be for this second helping of Alien invasionery but, what I do know, is that it was their most successful venture to date and that they sunk more money than usual into the sequel; and the trailer shows it. Some sweeping PA landscapes and great looking Battlestar Galactica type dogfight scenes make this straight to DVD actioner look almost worth tracking down. Enjoy some cool images and the trailer after the break.

UPDATE: Quiet Earth reader Avery was kind enough to let us know that these images are actually from the first film and have just been recycled for the trailer. so oops... However, as they are still pretty cool we'll keep them up for your enjoyment.

The DVD is set to street on April 1st, 2008. Thanks to The Asylum gang for the update.

Synopsis: "The aliens return to complete their plan of human domination, launching a second wave of attacks that threaten to destroy what is left of humanity."

This looks like an Outer Limits episode but really good nonetheless.

Like I said in the article, I haven't actually seen the original. I just grabbed these from the trailer under the assumption they were new images.

Hopefully the sweet space battle footage in the trailer was at least new. It looked really well done (though it is just a trailer).

This sequel is actually being directed by C.Thomas Howell, instead of David Michael Latt, who starred in the first one from Asylum.I'm interested to see what his take on it will be like. Here's a link to the original with it's trailer: http://theasylum.cc/product.php?id=10
