Christopher Webster [Celluloid 05.16.08] post apocalyptic movie news

Well, it's happening. Some early buzz for M Night Shyamalan's new apocalyptic paranoia piece, The Happening, has appeared on Collider and, while I'm not one to dig on early reviews, it's hard not to pick up on the negative vibe from even a quick skim. Personally I like to make up my own mind about films (particularly those of the M. Night variety) so, to be honest, I didn't really dig into it too much. What I did enjoy however, was the new five minute puff piece with Shyamalan discussing various aspects of the production and how he came to become fascinated with the high concept of The Happening, that has appeared on Yahoo. Links to both the interview and the review after the break.

Considering I loved both The Village and Lady in the Water and thought it was his best work to date, this means nothing to me. I'm still looking forward to it.
