Screenwriter Lawrance Kasdan, also known as "the writer of those good Star Wars movies," has been tapped to adapt the 80s anime series Robotech into a live action feature for Warner Brothers. The prolific writer, who is also responsible for fantasy faves Raiders of the Lost Ark, Dreamcatcher, and the upcoming Clash of the Titans remake, will certainly have his work cut out for him. Turning one of the biggest anime epics about alien invasions and the giant robots that protect us into only one film could be a challenge methinks, but with a veteran like Kasdan pushing the pen there's at least hope that the story of this 80s robot picture won't end up being a clunky mess like Transformers.
