Allright, I've held off on this since last week but it's time we got to do the important tidbits in film news. First off, one of our favorite directors Alex Proyas, might be doing Dracula Year Zero as his next project. "The story will weave vampire mythology with the true history of Prince Vlad the Impaler. It depicts Dracula as a flawed hero in a tragic love story set in a dark age of magic and war, repositioning him more as a vengeful hero than the monster seen in Bram Stoker's classic novel." Nice, throw in some german expressionism and I'm sold. Next off Robert Englund has a project in the works which is kind of like a horror snow white. "It's about a fallen priest, a fallen angel… a monster and a dead girl in suspended animation." No word on where it's going. Next off we might be getting a prequel to I am Legend and I say WHO CARES. That was quick. Next John Carpenter might be going back to work on a script written by Steve Niles involving ghosts and a serial killer. Sweet. He'll supposedly be working with David Foster who produced one of all of our favorites, THE THING. Next word is Luc Besson will be working with Korea on an adaptation of a davinci-esque novel called Qin Shi Huang. Nice. For Evil Dead fans, it looks like there might be a part 4 or a remake coming as Sam Raimi confirmed something is in the works at SDCC. Last but not least the scifi animated favorite Space Battleship Yamato is getting revived after 25 years (and some legal disputes got sorted out). "Set in 2220, the pic will depict the evacuation of 300 million people from Earth to avoid certain death from an expanding black hole. The Yamato, a space battleship, is leading the rescue fleet when it is attacked by an alien force." This could be really awesome. That's all for now folks!
