quietearth [DVD News 10.27.08] post apocalyptic zombies movie news dvd

We originally posted about this low budget zombie PA flick back in August and at that time it looked like the project had been languishing, but when I checked the website today the dvd was available for order and there's a new trailer to go along with it! As many of you know, we do lots of low/no budget zombie and post apocalyptic stuff, and some of them are actually quite good, so we're getting a copy for review and we'll let you know how it is!

"When college roommates Mark and Tom go out for a night at the bar, the last thing they expected to find was a machete wielding stranger and a horde of the undead. With the help of amateur photographer and video store clerk Raven, the unlikely party fights their way into an epic conflict between the living and the dead.

Zombie Apocalypse is a feature-length over-the-top action/adventure movie. It’s roots are in the entertainment value of blockbusters of the 1980’s and video games, with intense drama, exciting action, but it never takes itself too seriously. It's pure escapism and a good time at the movies.

It focuses on four main characters and their adventures after a zombie outbreak spreads throughout the country. Miller: the mysterious stranger searching the country for his long-lost wife, who herself has ties to the creation of the zombies; Mark, a bullheaded college student recently betrayed by his friend and girlfriend; Tom, Mark’s video game playing medical student roommate; and Raven, a rebellious video store clerk and amateur photographer who goes from depressed to overjoyed once the zombies hit. Throughout the movie they meet a host of other characters including a mob of survivors who call themselves The Marauders, shadowy agents, Illuminati-style organization, and nemesis from the past."

Awesome news!! I was hoping that we'd here more about this cool looking film and that it wasn't a dead project.

Glad you are excited to see our work! I'm one of the composers, sound designers, foley artists, etc. We had a great time making this film, and I can't wait to hear what you think. This was a learning process for every one on the crew, and I think we did a pretty kick-ass job considering the $5,000 budget. Take that, Hollywood!

I hope you all enjoy our project (dead or alive). I also worked on the film, choreographing the fights and filling in elsewhere when needed (waves at Dave, aka Filter). I'm sure you'll get a blast of it.
