Marina Antunes [Celluloid 01.20.10] Spain trailer news drama

Wow. That's what came to mind after seeing not one but three trailer for Eduard Cortés' Ingrid.

The film, which stars the gorgeous Elena Serrano, appears to be full of mystery and trouble and though the first two trailers reveal little of the story, they certainly are intriguing. The last gives a little more but still not enough to really get a feel for what Cortés and co-writer Marta Puig have in mind so let me give you a hand.

After the break-up of his marriage, Alex sets himself up in a new house. There he meets Ingrid, an eccentric twenty-three-year-old artist who, from now on, will be his neighbour. Concerts, performances, parties and exhibitions are commonplace in the house where a fascinating atmosphere of creative freedom prevails. Ingrid and Alex quickly develop a peculiar and close friendship, but little by little he begins to discover that Ingrid's enthralling world conceals unexpected mysteries.

You mean like bondage? Group sex? Exhibitionism? All three trailers suggest a little of of each and I can't say it's too surprising though it does amaze me that someone has managed to capture it on film. It's refreshing to see a female protagonist who plays on the fringes and isn't afraid of getting a little wild though I must admit I'm a little concerned to see what these “mysteries” the synopsis mentions may be.

Get ready to have your socks knocked off. Each of the trailers has a drastically different feel (if some of the footage wasn't the same you'd swear these were three different films) but be warned, they feature some images that may not be safe for work.

Oh how I hope we get a chance to see this. Fingers crossed!
