God, who's NOT afraid of Carnies. Small hands. Anyway, the first trailer for Nicholas David Lean's UK shocker Hard Shoulder has leaked online and between the premise and some great looking photography it's looking very impressive indeed.
Synopsis:
When a work-obsessed man reluctantly agrees to a weekend away with his disgruntled wife and disruptive children, a leisurely trip to the country becomes a fight for survival as a convoy of old-world carnival-type travellers force the family off the road, and then seem to engage them in a series of terrifying mind games in an abandoned roadside diner.
The film stars Wil Johnson, Jamie Foreman, Jill Greenacre and Angela Dixon.
Not 100 per cent sure on a release date, but we'll be sure to let you know.
Check out the trailer after the break.

Looks like another badly acted torture porn movie. Move along, there's nothing to see here.

sunolet (10 years ago) Reply
yea i gotta agree with squaddie, the acting is bad, the plot is recycled, and it looks like it entirely comprises of carnies punching a black guy and feeling up a white girl

Anonymous (10 years ago) Reply
It looks ok, but the dialogue sounds really forced and unrealistic. "Well, well, well..." ha! Bad writing I think, but probably worth a watch to see if it's better than the trailer.

Shame that independent film makers aren't trying something new. Torture porn films came and went a few years ago so this one has missed the boat. Good independent films usually bring us something new not more of the same.

This movie isnt what it seems? Its not a torture porn movie. You have to looks past it
and pick up on the clues???

Funny how people can judge so condemningly what they don't understand....and in 80 secs no less. Wow ! I for one will give it a watch because there's something else in this - can't put my finger on it yet but it's there.

"Funny how people can judge so condemningly what they don't understand....and in 80 secs no less"
-isn't that why an editor should cut a decent trailer? A trailer is meant to draw people in to make them want to watch the film. This film looks quite well made, but is clearly nothing new.

Trailers can be misleading, and most of them are.How many times have we seen a trailer and said wow! Cant wait to see that. Then were bitterly disapointed after viewing the film.I think you guys have become jaded by the amount of crap you probably watch.I'm not surprised by the lazy
armchair film critic attitude.watch the picture when it comes out. Then slag it off!

" but is clearly nothing new. "
Trailer's are intended to draw people in but not to give them enough to work out the full narrative - something which you clearly haven't and won't be able to either from this. Arrogance and intelligence always were uncomfortable bedfellows and rarely do they find company with one another !

Making off hand remarks like this when this work is hardly out of the box is not helpful
and unfair. This isnt even a proper trailer its
a teaser, at least give them a chance!Typical movie geeks
always moaning and full of negative comment.

default (10 years ago) Reply
It really does not matter what a couple of moaners with nothing better to do with their time think of this trailer. There's allways going to be negativity, just look on just about every imdb board- whatever the film. If the film is good, it will speak for its self, people will see it and it will be a success. I for one will be taking a look, looks interesting.

Oi! Knob Jocky. I want to see if you have made anything? No, thought not, sitting there in your underpants watching endless drivel and pretending you know everything about film there is to know. Your an armchair critic in a shot gun shack
and thats all you will ever be. At least the guy who made this , good or bad, he got off his ass and took a risk. We will see when it comes out if it any good. But you will still be sitting there with your hands down your dirty pants.

Nicholas David Lean (10 years ago) Reply
