Christopher Webster [Celluloid 04.11.10] zombies news horror documentary

You know, it's about time a feature length documentary celebrating the lumbering rise of zombies in popular culture was put together. Spearheaded by director Robert Galluzzo (The Psycho Legacy) and writer/producer Anthony Masi (His Name was Jason), Zombie Culture: Documentary of the Living Dead promises to encompass the whole history of the zombie phenomenon.

About:
The complete history of zombie films from the 1930’s to present day, this documentary will feature dozens of interviews with horror historians, critics and filmmakers to treat the viewer to the most comprehensive documentary ever made on the worldwide longevity of zombie films.

Integrating a chronological format, an exhaustive feel will be invoked as the concept of the "zombie" evolves decade by decade from the classic movie monsters (“Frankenstein”) to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” to present-day zombie movies. The television market is ripe for programming of this nature, with potential repeat showings year after year during the fall season, as well as anytime a mainstream studio zombie movie is released.

The film is currently in development, so we'll update as soon as we have more details.
