Marina Antunes [Celluloid 04.20.10] France trailer news thriller

If the teaser is any indication, the 70 minutes of Vincent Ostria’s new feature is not going to be enough. Or maybe it’ll be too much – I’m not quite certain which one.

The story of Muinsk, a drug dealer with aspirations of becoming a librarian (alright), Crime unfolds when one day, Muinsk receives a mysterious package containing black powder but it’s not a one-of delivery and the packages, all containing more of the powder, continue to arrive. Curious, Muinsk begins to ingest it, figuring it’s some sort of new drug but it’s when Muinsk receives a visit from friends who stop in for a night of fun that things really take a turn for the worse.

As if taking some unknown substance wasn’t strange enough, this trailer is the real deal, reminiscent of early Lynch though what first came to mind was Crispin Glover’s What Is It?. Moody, great sound design, a bit weird – almost like maybe you too should have taken the black powder.
