Marina Antunes [Celluloid 05.06.10] Canada trailer news thriller

French Canadian director Daniel Grou has been working in TV for a number of years but he captured a bit of international attention earlier this year when his revenge thriller 7 Days ( Les 7 jours du talion) (review, trailer) played at Sundance.

At the time, agentorange noted that Grou’s film made “a good case for [Grou] being a force in new Canadian cinema” and now that we have a trailer for his follow-up, I’d second that opinion. A slight change of pace, 10 ½ is also a thriller but this one centered on Tommy, a 10 ½ year old boy who’s spent most of his life in foster care and who has developed a tendency towards violent behaviour. When he lands in the care of Gilles (Claude Legault who also appeared in 7 days), the social worker sees a young boy who needs help.

It’s a gorgeous looking trailer for what looks to be a good thriller. Between it and the 7 Days recommendation, Grou may well be a guy to watch out for.

Trailer after the break.

You need to look up the definition of 'thriller'. Cause this clearly isn't. It's a drama about a kid in therapy.

Yeah... I wouldn't exactly call this a "thriller". It actually looks like kind of a feel good movie.

Agree - this definitely looks like a drama - and not feel good - but the trailer looks awesome!!
