A Logan's Run remake has been talked about for a while, but some interesting news has just surfaced over at /Film that puts Carl Erik Rinsch in talks with producers to helm the project. You may remeber Rinsch as the director behind the scifi short, The Gift, or you may know him from countless commercials. Regardless of where you know him from you'll probably admit that he's one of the best names out there to do a project like this.

Around here, we're MASSIVE fans of Logan's Run and I think I speak for all of us when I say this better not end up some half baked project.

One other side-note - it will be hilarious to listen to youngsters talk about how this is a rip-off of The Island when it comes out. Just sayin', it's bound to happen.

i'd just like to say there are some young
'uns out in the world such as myself who will be ripping the pancreases out of youngsters who claim it to be a rip off of the island, more likely though, they'll remember an episode of family guy

Logan's Run doesn't need a remake. They'll probably "re-imagine" Forbidden Planet or Shape of Things to Come :(

I have to agree with anglebender when I saw this I thought WTF? Logan’s Run is classic SiFi, why not do something original for pete sake? God Knows there are enough scripts out there.

To be fair, many people forget that Carpenter's The Thing is a remake. I find myself half annoyed that nobody can come up with something new, but it's not like they are taking away the old version.

Well, maybe if Lucas was doing it but...

I love Logan's Run but in some ways I think it's a pretty bad film. Some of the best things about it - the location work in modernist Dallas, the gorgeous design, and Jenny Agutter - are going to be lost, so I can't really see the point of a remake
