Marina Antunes [Celluloid 09.10.10] movie trailer news horror



It took Jennifer Lynch to recover from the disappointment of Boxing Helena but when she returned two years ago with the thriller Surveillance (review), she came out swinging and she wasn’t going to let herself disappear for another 15 years.

Almost immediately after the release of Surveillance, she signed on to Hisss, a project that was described as a "Bollywood horror film". Yes, that’s right. Bollywood horror. Based on an old legend about snake who takes on a woman’s form, the film stars Bollywood starlet Mallika Sherawat in the lead and the fantastic Irrfan Khan.

There was a trailer kicking around for the film earlier in the year that suggested this could be good and not just cheesy fun. A new trailer has now been revealed and it has me convinced that though they’re definitely playing up the snake-woman horror bit, this isn’t to be written off as a schlocky horror flick. There’s a lot less ickyness in this new trailer but it’s doing wonders in shaping a clearer picture of what we might expect from Lynch’s new film.

A snake-woman that eats men. No sexual issues at play here. None at all.

WTF?!

On on one hand, this definitely is total crap.
Yet, on the other hand this female snake design looks strangely...sexy.

It´s a craptastic indian species schlockfest with a sexy snake. Needs to be seen...hissssss:-)

Ehhhhhh....
It looks pretty crappy if you ask me...decent story idea/concept..but the film looks gawdawful.
Phoebe...are you referring to the old 70ies film "Sssssss" with Strother Martin and Dirk Benedict in it?
