Christopher Webster [Celluloid 01.14.11] Russia movie news scifi gallery art

The problem with getting news from foreign sites is I never know if I'm getting the story right. But here goes... Filmz.ru found a video of Russian director Janik Faiziev talking about an epic scifi project called "Arena" that he and production company "Ivan" are putting together.

The 12 minute video showed some intriguing concept art that hinted at some elements of the film: A lost space traveller, an alien planet and an epic battle between good and evil - maybe even gods.

Surprise, surprise, they were asked to remove the video, but were given the artowrk (which, let's face it, is all we care to see since we don't speak Russian).

We don't know anything about the plot, and honestly this artwork doesn't help much, but it's after the break for you to enjoy.

More as it comes!

UPDATE: Video embedded after the break!

Since it is Russian, I'm not really excited. You saw how they screwed up the wonderful book Inhabited Island by Strugatsky brothers.

Since it is Russian, you can expect the use of organ called brain to figure what is going on.
Something people of the west seem to forget how to in recent ages...
