As a fantasy fan I'm really hoping Tarsem Singh's sword and sandal epic Immortals can right the wrongs of Clash of the Titans and give me hope that Hollywood can still handle classy dark fantasy. This may be a low-res teaser trailer, but in my mind I think we're in good hands. And if I know Singh's work you can expect something exciting and surreal and new.

Synopsis:
Years after the Titanomachy, the Titan Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) declares war on humanity. He searches for the Epirus Bow, a legendary weapon created by the war god Ares, which will allow him to free the rest of the Titans from Tartarus and take revenge on the Olympians who brought about their downfall. In accordance with ancient laws, the gods are unable to take a side in the war between Hyperion and humanity. It is left to a peasant named Theseus (Henry Cavill), chosen by Zeus (Luke Evans) and accompanied by the priestess Phaedra (Freida Pinto) and a slave (Stephen Dorff), to protect his homeland and save the gods.

Immortals stars Henry Cavill, Luke Evans (Zeus), Kellan Lutz (Posiedon), Isabel Lucas (Athena), and Daniel Sharman (Ares).

This does look amazing, even through the be-shitted lense of E news. I can't help but think of 300 when I see it, but since I can remember Tarsem's previous work, that won't be much of a problem once the film gets moving. Now, if we can just get a proper trailer
