From Abel Ferrara, director of Bad Leuitenant and The Driller Killer comes an apocalyptic vision akin to Don McKellar Candaian classic Last Night. When we originally reported on the project, it was just called "Last Day on Earth." Now that we've discovered the first official poster for the film, you can see it's been retitled to 4:44: Last Day on Eath to capitalize on the exact moment of toal annihilation. We also didn't know that Willem Dafoe was in it, who is also featured prominently in this first poster for the film.
Synopsis:
In a large apartment high above the city lives our couple. They're in love. She's a painter, he's a successful actor. Just a normal afternoon - except that this isn't a normal afternoon, for them or anyone else. Because tomorrow, at 4:44 am, give or take a few seconds, the world will come to an end far more rapidly than even the worst doomsayer could have imagined.
The final meltdown will come, not without warnings, but with no means of escape. There will be no survivors. As always, there are those who, as their final cigarette is being lit and the blindfold tightened, will still hope against hope for some kind of reprieve. For a miracle. Not our two lovers. They - like the majority of the Earth's population - have accepted their fate; the world is going to end.
You can check out the first official poster for 4:44: Last day on Earth and the first official still after the break.

Holy shit, never thought it would happen, but I completely agree with John. Willem Dafoe is absolutely amazing in practically everything he's ever played in. I'll be watching this one

I can't wait to see Willem Dafoe in his new movie. I totally fell in love with his acting when I saw "Antichrist" and ended up watching everything I could find with him. Mr Dafoe haas been in lots of films, many of them shitty, but he is a great actor who lets you believe that he shares a bit of his soul with you when he plays. And this movie looks like it's going to be another feast for Dafoe-junkies like me!

What about Dafoe's "John Carter on Mars"? That should be one to see also! 4-44 will be a definite one on my list!
