Thanks Grandpa is a short film that takes place in a post-apocalyptic Miami Florida that's overrun by the living dead. It is a vignette/prequel/tie-in based on the ongoing webcomic The Zombie Years in that it tells the story of one of its main characters, Delilah "Del" Esquinosa, and what she did before she met her fellow survivors. It ties in directly to the main story line.
Synopsis:
When all that exists is death, it takes more than survival to understand life, and we see Delilah "Del" Esquinosa go about this in her own way, from finding a new companion... to keeping old ones. What is family, friends, or even life itself when faced with the dead who won't DIE?
Check out the whole thing after the break.
The story of the film is pretty standard survivor-exploring-the-wasteland stuff, but I'm struck at the quality of the shot composition and the kinds of shots the filmmakers got. Certainly catching a thunderstorm like the one that opens the film must be hard to plan for.

That thing on her face made her look dumb. Those ridiculous boots made her look silly. But that thing with the dog made me want to push her ass in a pit full of redneck zombies!

I just wanted to drop in and say thanks to quietearth for posting our film. We are glad you liked it. We didn't have much of a budget (actually we made it with what we had in our pockets :) ) but we made up for it with the wonderful shots we were able to get.Again guys thanks so much for the kudos and for posting for your readers to see.

It's great to finally see this, not a bad short story to test the waters of the your crews filming ability. the city does look deserted and delilah seems like a real character. If I would criticize something, you probably would aready know what it is, since youve seen it so much more. Overall its a good short film.

The cinematography *was* beautiful, but the "dog thing" is the last thing you want someone you want your audience to like to do. It's something a "villain" would do.

Of course she gave the dog to grandpa... grandpa needs to eat too, right? ;) anyway, good stuff, solid shots and everything looks really pro, exept the boots, they look ridiculous, not fit for running nor climbing, generaly impractical, but hey, they obviously have +10 damage bonus, seen the zomie head slpashed? that must be the reason she keeps them ;)

i actually liked the ending, something to be said about sentimentality/love even if it means keeping grandpa around. I do agree with the first post about the scar and the high heels...
