While I eagerly sit in my little corner eagerly anticipating the September 6th return of "Sons of Anarchy" which will bring with it the introduction of a new associate played by none other than Danny Trejo, we have a little something that is bound to make SoA fans smile - for about 30 seconds.
Turns out Trejo is teaming up with Ron Perlman for more than just a few appearances on SoA. The duo have gotten themselves involved in a questionable production aptly named Bad Ass. The title refers to Trejo's Frank Vega, a decorated Vietnam Vet who returns home to find his life falling apart.
It's not until forty years later when an incident on a commuter bus (where he protects an elderly black man from a pair of skin heads) makes him a local hero where he's suddenly celebrated once again. But his good fortune suddenly turns for the worse when his best friend Klondike is murdered and the police aren't doing anything about it.
It doesn't sound so bad but man, I have to admit I'm a bit scared by the fact this is co-written and directed by Craig Moss, a dude who some might recognize as the director of horrible comedies like the short Saving Ryan's Privates (great name for a porno) and The 41-Year-Old Virgin Who Knocked Up Sarah Marshall and Felt Superbad About It (plus what I can only presume is an upcoming Twilight spoof titled Fully Mooned). Yikes!
At least the poster is pretty cool. Trejo looks great in that beard. Slightly bigger version of the poster, via 24fps, below.
Hopefully we'll get a look at video from the movie soon. Even better if that video doesn't suck.

This is a Epic Beard Man based movie. The man at the poster is just like him.

Think that's just a watermark from the source site :)

You might want to think about spell checking before posting an article...it's "Perlman" not Pearlman, ya frickin' genius.

Another successful bust by the spelling police. Thanks for all the hard work!

I understand your concern in regards to films past by C Moss, but this actually is a totally different film than what he usually does and I think you will be pleasantly surprised. I'm not saying it's Oscar material either. I'm just sayin it was a pretty good read (in the genre of action kick ass Trejo style films) and it should serve C Moss well as a writer/director in the future as far as being taken more seriously.

Sounds like a US remake of HARRY BROWN...
