The London Film Festival is beginning to prepare for their 55th year and have announced the titles for this year's festival which runs October 12 to the 27th. As per usual, the line-up includes a great assortment of titles, both independent and otherwise. The festival will kick off in grand style with Fernando Meirelles' 360 and will close with Terence Davies' The Deep Blue Sea.

Sandwiched in the middle are a number of other great titles I'm anxious to see including Lynne Ramsay's high-school shooting drama We Need to Talk About Kevin (trailer), the Maria Full of Grace-with-guns thriller Miss Bala, Sean Durkin's drama Martha Marcy May Marlene (trailer) along with Nuri Bilge Ceylan's Turkish western Once Upon a Time in Antolia (trailer).

If that's not enough, there's also Steve McQueen's controversial Shame, Yorgos Lanthimo’s Alps (trailer), Takashi Miike's Hara-Kiri: Death of a Samurai along with one we're all excited to check out, Jeff Nichols's highly anticipated Take Shelter (trailer).

That's already a great list but not even the tip of the iceberg. Many more titles at the festival website. At the moment, I'm very jealous of our frinds in the UK.
