quietearth [Celluloid 10.26.11] scifi action

Heavy on the green screen and light on the locations and production value, I'm guessing this is going to end up on Syfy. Lance Henriksen plays a rogue Colonel in a film with aliens and spaceships. Need I say more?

An international deep space mission discovers an alien space craft, derelict and damaged, drifting in the rings of Saturn. Astounded to discover a member of its crew barely alive, they search further to find something else... alive.

Colonel Stephen Cencula (Lance Henriksen) is given the mission to head the Gemini Project with the goal to unlock the mysterious alien technology. He assembles his team, including Manning (John Savage) and Plummer (Brian Krause) to complete his plans.

Lisa Morgan (Amy Hathaway) is brought to Cencula's research lab on a remote island in the South Pacific to assist him to weaponize the technology. She discovers that Cencula has his own nefarious plans. Our heroines becomes an uniwitting accomplice to the rogue Colon's plans until she discovers the true nature of the research.

That was terrible. Maybe the film is okay but the editing and whoever thought that was the best way to market/advertise this film should ask themselves why would any audience want to see this film the way it was just presented. It's like they said show them an alien and remind them Lance Henriksen is in the film, you know "Bishop" from "Aliens" and that will be good enough. Look people want to see films that tell great stories. If all we want is to see alien FX or CG plates with no compelling characters or story, we can get it 101 ways from $150M+ studio films. C'mon independents... your value is you exist outside the cumbersome studio system. You can take the time to tell great stories with great characters. Those things don't require budget they require good storytelling. And if you happen to make a great film, please take the time and allocate the money to hire an editor who is also a great storyteller otherwise no one will want to see your film.

You sound like a frustrated editor who lost the bid for this job.

THIS LOOKS AWESOME!!! I can’t wait to see this movie! This is one of the BEST Syfy trailers I’ve seen in a long time. Lance Henriksen is so fu*king intense—I LOVE that guy. Looks like a really good story too. Great visual effect and CGI work. What studio is releasing it? Can’t wait for it to come out.

OMG what did the filmmakers have people come on here and "fake" comment. The trailer... oh which is now gone... was by far one of the worst things ever put together.
