The Roger Corman produced 80’s film Chopping Mall is slated to get remade by Robert Hall, who created the Chromeskull saga of films (Laid to Rest and Chromeskull: Laid to Rest 2). The original film was written and directed by Jim Wynorski who cheesy sword and sorcery fans will know from Deathstalker).

The movie, originally released as "Killbots", is about “a group of teenagers trapped inside a shopping mall and hunted by the building's new security force: state of the art robots with a taste for blood.”

Hall’s version of Chopping Mall will take a supernatural terror route, and will downplay the science fiction elements.
