I've been incredibly skeptical of Rian Johnson's new project and was expecting a serious let down. I mean, how do you follow up a masterpiece like Brick? And while the poster is boring, the trailer sure as hell isn't. It won't be another spiritual experience, but it looks like it's going to be badass.

The film stars Bruce Willis, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Emily Blunt, Jeff Daniels, Piper Perabo, and Paul Dano. Release is slated for September 28th.

In the futuristic action thriller Looper, time travel will be invented -- but it will be illegal and only available on the black market. When the mob wants to get rid of someone, they will send their target 30 years into the past, where a looper -- a hired gun, like Joe -- is waiting to mop up. Joe is getting rich and life is good... until the day the mob decides to "close the loop," sending back Joe's future self for assassination.

It felt a little plastic and soulless - maybe that was the intent? After all it does have Bruce Willis in. However I got from the script it was supposed to be very heartfelt - about regret and mistakes you made when you were younger. Hopefully this trailer is not an indicator of the film. It just feels cheap.

Looks great, but I agree with j.j. in that it "feels cheap." In the same way that In Time was cheap... as in, it was cheap. Filmed in back alleys and warehouses and what not.

Doesn't mean the story won't be there though.

Looking forward to this one.

Should be interesting to see how they handle the time paradox issues. That could make it great or just stupid.

Loved Joseph Gordon Levitt in Inception and the movie The Lookout looks like it could be pretty cool!
