Marina Antunes [Celluloid 07.24.12] thriller drama werewolves

Though we've been warned to keep our expectations in check for the lesbian werewolf drama Jack & Diane (our own Robert Hull concluded that the film has a few enjoyable moments but doesn't pay off in the end), the trailer that just appeared for Bradley Rust Gray's new film certainly looks amazing.

Part of it is Juno Temple who has shown great potential in past projects. Add in the Quay Brothers' animation, a great score and some really tantalizing visuals, and Jack & Diane certainly looks beautiful. The official synopsis reads:

Jack and Diane, two teenage girls, meet in New York City and spend the night kissing ferociously. Diane's charming innocence quickly begins to open Jack's tough skinned heart. But when Jack discovers that Diane is moving, she pushes her away. Unable to grasp her new feelings, Diane's emotions begin to cause unexplainable violent changes to her body. Through these awkward and insecure feelings, the two girls must struggle to turn their first love into an enduring one.

Expectations are lowered slightly by the mixed review but this trailer has me sold.
