Ben Wheatley is a busy man at the moment. It was previously announced that the director would follow up his new horror comedy Sightseers (review) with a monster action movie titled Freakshift, but it turns out Wheatley had an ace up his sleeve because another project has just been announced and filming is scheduled to start later this month.

A Field In England is being toted as a low budget horror movie set in the 17th century during the English Civil War. Variety has a full synopsis which reads:

Described as "a psychedelic trip into magic and madness," it follows a group of deserters from a Civil War battle, who are captured by an alchemist who forces them to help him search for a hidden treasure buried in an overgrown field. But after eating mushrooms, they slowly fall victim to the terrifying energies trapped in the field.

Not only is it great news that Wheatley is keeping so busy but that he's doing so with interesting sounding projects. Nice to see that we have lots move Wheatley to look forward to in the coming years as for right now, Sightseers is playing the festival circuit before opening in the UK on November 30th.
