Bret Easton Ellis and Taxi Driver's Paul Schrader unite to bring us a seedy new California vision called The Canyons, starring Lindsay Lohan and pron star James Deen.

A new trailer has emerged which is done in the increasingly popular grindhouse style, which is so overused now it's like the Instagram of the movie trailers world. Will the film be completed in this style? No one seems to be quite sure, but apparently Lohan has seen the film and tears were shed. Tears of sorrow? We shall have to wait and see.

THE CANYONS is a contemporary L.A. noir from director Paul Schrader, writer Bret Easton Ellis, and producer Braxton Pope about the dangers of sexual obsession and ambition, both personally and professionally, among a group of young people in their 20's and how one chance meeting connected to the past unravels all of their lives, resulting in deceit, paranoia, cruel mind games and ultimately violence.

Point of interest: Broken Social Scene member Brendan Canning scored the film.
