Marina Antunes [Celluloid 11.13.12] horror

Director Michael Ojeda has made a name for himself on TV's "Deadliest Warrior" and now the director is taking his experience with interesting action sequences, edited for television, and applying them to the big screen in what looks to be a seriously intense bit of gory horror.

Savaged stars Amanda Adrienne as Zoe, a woman who stops a group of men from hurting two boys only to find herself the brutalized victim of the murderous gang. They leave her for dead but she is found by a shaman who accidentally allows her body to be inhabited by a bloodthirsty Apache warrior who sets off on revenge in some gruesome, not to mention innovative, ways.

The teaser trailer clocks in at just 45 seconds but it is a brutal 45 seconds full of blood, arrows and as the trailer suggests, savage deaths. If this is any indication, we're in for an ugly bit of horror, complete with innovation; that intestinal tug of war isn't the kind of thing you see every day.

Savaged is currently in post-production. I expect the full trailer will be even bloodier.
