Marina Antunes [Bunker Blueprint 12.04.12] scifi drama

The idea of reanimating the dead isn't exactly new but it's been a while since we've seen an updated version of the classic tale. Enter The Phoenix Project, a story of four scientists who move into a house together with the intention of building a machine which reanimates deceased organisms. The story starts as a sort of Frankenstein tale but does it end that way? The official synopsis goes on to explain:

As the project develops, the machine exceeds their expectations, creating possibilities that they all hoped for, but yielding problems that only some could predict. With dwindling resources, the crew must contain their ulterior motives in order to realize the daunting task ahead of them: bringing the dead back to life.

It's an interesting concept and I love these small/no budget sci-fi dramas based in reality (Primer anyone?) and this has the makings of something special. Writer/director Tyler Pavey and his team seem to have created some magic here and now they need a bit of help to finish the project which is about to enter post production. They've launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to finish the film and for a mere $10 you can guarantee yourself a copy of the finished film which they will be submitting to festivals next year.

Their campaign video starts off with a great looking trailer which immediately caught my attention. You can check that out below.
