Director Benjamin Howdeshell made a big splash last year with the release of a short film titled Project SERA. It was the kind of short that tends to capture the attention of Hollywood looking for the next fresh thing but the calling card landed the director at IGN, working his nine minute short into a six part web series.

Starring Julia Voth as Gillian Eames, it follows Eames as she and Lieutenant Riggins (Derek Theler) try to track down a biological agent originally designed to "expedite the recovery of soldiers wounded on the battlefields of Afghanistan," before it makes its way onto the black market. Good thing too because this nasty bit of medicine gone wrong turns those treated into zombies.

Voth, a TV regular likely best know for her role in Bitch Slap, is very good in the role of ass kicking General's daughter and the series, the first three episodes of which are now online, is pretty entertaining. The 7 to 9 minute episodes are bookended by action sequences which keeps the interest high and the story is, if not new, really well executed. The first episode is below while you can watch the rest at the official YouTube channel.

And while we're on the subject of zombie web series, you may recall Marlon Ladd's zombie comedy Bad to the Jones which we first posted about two years ago. The project looked like a heck of a good time and director Ladd has passed on some good news. He plans on releasing the movie as a web series over the next few months and the first episode has just landed on line. You can see it below and be sure to subscribe to Ladd's channel for the next instalment.
