After the uber success that was Hammer's The Women in Black, all eyes are on John Pogue's upcoming The Quiet Ones, the company's next supernatural shocker.

The story of the quiet ones will likely be a little less gothic however and is about a University physics professor who assembles a team to help create a poltergeist.

We've uncovered the first official poster from the production, one that unnerves with a distressed, blured and upside down image that hints at the terrifying experiments to come.

Inspired by true events, The Quiet Ones tells the story of an unorthodox professor who uses controversial methods and leads his best students off the grid to take part in a dangerous experiment: to create a poltergeist. Based on the theory that paranormal activity is cause by human negative energy, the rogue scientists perform a series of tests on a young patient, pushing her to the edge of sanity.

As frightening occurrences begin to take place with shocking and gruesome consequences, the group quickly realizes they have triggered a force more terrifying than they ever could have imagined.

The Quiet Ones is directed by screenwriter-turned-director John Pogue who's last film was Quarantine 2: Terminal.
