Marina Antunes [Celluloid 07.05.13] post apocalyptic scifi action thriller adventure

Though it doesn't look like Bong Joon-ho's English language debut Snowpiercer will make a North American theatrical appearance in 2013, The Weinstein Company has yet to announce any details about the movie's release, the marketing machine keeps trucking along and a new international trailer has appeared for the movie.

Nearly a minute shorter than the trailer from a few weeks ago, focusing more on the uprising itself than on the setup, this new look promises lots of action to come with Chris Evans leading the revolt against Tilda Swinton and the upper crust who hold court in the front carts of the train. The story, based on the French sci-fi graphic novel "Le Transperceneige," has humanity's last survivors circling the earth in a 1,001 car, perpetual engine train. Between this and Elysium (trailer), it looks like we're in for a good dose of "smart" sci-fi.

Along with the new trailer, a number of featurettes, some of them containing previously unseen footage and added tidbits of story (like who ended up in which car), have also appeared for the movie which is due out in South Korean theatres on August 1st.
