quietearth [Celluloid 08.27.13] post apocalyptic zombies apocalyptic horror action thriller

Writer Tommy Draper, director Tom Wadlow and Sophie Black collaborated on the script for Wasteland following the UK riots of 2012 and their story of a man fighting for love in a world ravaged by a zombie infested world seems to fit nicely with the inspiration.

Recently, actor, producer Mem Ferda joined the production as executive producer and we hope that that means we'll see some kind of release of the film in one form or another well soon.

Synopsis:
WASTELAND is a feature film set in a world ravaged by a deadly virus, telling the tale of Scott Miller, a young man trying to survive, to find hope, to find purpose within a new world. Each day he survives in the hope of being reunited with his long lost love Beth.

Wasteland stars Shameer Seepersand, Jessica Messenger, Rachel Benson, Edward Nudd, Mike Rhodes, Carl Cropley and Carl Bryan.

if it's inspired by the UK riots then maybe they'll show people handing their trousers over to black looters

There are 8 million zombie films out these days, and they all seem to fall into 2 categories:
(1) Ultra-low budget flicks where the main character is searching for someone
and
(2) High budget flicks where the main character is searching for something.

They really don't go anywhere do they? The world overrun with zombies seems to be rife with story ideas, and yet it doesn't seem to get explored much. This film here is a prime example, I made it to 1.14in the trailer before losing interest completely. I think the last zombie film that interested me was "Dead Set" a UK mini-series.

What Digger said. "Dead Set" was great. I watched 20 mins of "Zombie Massacre" recently...say no more.

100% agree with the above posts. Yes there are some great zombie flicks that came out the last handful of years, like The Dead,Rammbock,La Horde, etc since the zombie craze hit. The problem is for every good & solid zombie film like the ones I named above we get about 999 absolutely horrible ones.
